Four Indian startups strengthening PM Modi’s campaign ‘Vocal for local’


After ‘Make in India’ campaign the new hashtag making news all around is ‘Vocal for local’. As PM Narendra Modi called upon Indians on making India Aatmanirbhar ( i.e self-reliant) and laid emphasis on using indigenous products to support the local businessmen and strengthen the economy. The new business mantra by PM Modi seems to have given an opportunity to Indian startups to bounce back in the business.

During these unprecedented times when the businesses across the nation are shutting down, there are few Indian startups who are managing well to operate in such a crisis. The rise in the entrepreneurial spirit of the country is turbocharging the Indian economy. So, here are few sectors where Indian startups are growing into leaps and bounds.

TradeIndia

TradeIndia, a B2B online marketplace is reinforcing the agenda of ‘Vocal for Local’ by providing a reliable platform to local buyers and sellers. To aid the local businessmen the company has also upgraded its mobile app in six vernacular languages making it an ideal forum for businesses across India. The Gurugram-based platform is emerging as another portal supporting PM’s agenda of ‘Vocal for local’. The online portal has even introduced an ‘Atmanirbhar’ section on its platform which includes products made locally across different categories.

Crofarm, the Gurugram-based startup funded by Smile Group recently launched its social commerce venture OTIPY to revolutionise the supply chain of fresh produce in India. The company works closely with women reseller to fulfil the demand of end consumer.

XPay.Life is another addition to the list of Indian startups strengthening the agenda of Aatmanirbhar. This Indian startup is dedicated to make life simpler in rural areas by providing consumers with a one-stop solution to pay their multi-utility bills. The startup caters to 50,000+ pin codes across India, helping people pay their bills by using digital means.
