TimesJobs: How is the response to the portal in COVID-19 times?

Saumya Singh: Currently people are isolated, they need to connect, they need a distraction from the panic and the stress of the pandemic and social gaming is a great stress buster. We have made our platform available even for free games as well for our premier properties such as PUBG, Free Fire, Carrom. We are doing our best to keep the new content going on a weekly basis. Our focus is on facilitating smooth social connections possible at this point of time.

TimesJobs: Has COVID-19 stalled your hiring process?

Saumya Singh: Hiring for us is the most critical task, we don’t like to on-board till both sides have established comfort in our working style, our vision, and a true cultural fit. With that as a baseline for decision making, we are not rushing into quick hiring decisions, we will wait till we can run our usual process.

TimesJobs: What is your staff strength?

Saumya Singh: We are a 45 member team currently operating from Jasola, New Delhi.

TimesJobs: What skills do you generally hire for?

Saumya Singh: Integrity, passion, innovation and data orientation are our organisation’s four pillars. To understand our audience and their behavior we are glued to the data. Analytical decision-making capabilities for product and business decisions is what we bet on. We hire those who strive to hustle, remain motivated in the face of failures and demonstrate resilience.

TimesJobs: What should a youngster do to be a part of the gaming industry?
Saumya Singh:
The gaming industry in India is one of the fastest growing markets in the world. Gaming is growing on the back of cutting-edge technology. There are some very interesting tech challenges we are solving, to name a few: building real time gaming engines, solving for latency at a very poor network level, building an app that runs seamlessly even on low end devices. That said, gaming problems require top notch tech and data minds.
