June 2019 records 22% Y-o-Y growth, 7% M-o-M growth in talent demand


Talent demand is on an upswing at India Inc. – indicating that it is business as usual at the corporate floors as the Modi 2.0 government is settling in. June 2019 posted 22% Y-o-Y growth in talent demand, same as the May 2019 trend.

The latest edition of TimesJobs RecruiteX revealed these trends, with an observation that the IT/Telecom sector noted highest Y-o-Y talent demand with 28% growth. It was followed by the FMCG sector which posted 23% Y-o-Y growth in talent demand.

Further analysis of the sector-wise Y-o-Y data revealed that Healthcare and Construction sectors had 21% growth each in talent demand, thereby claiming the third and fourth spot on the list.

A study of June 2019 edition reveals that the Retail sector posted highest growth (7%) in M-o-M comparison of talent demand. Retail was followed by FMCG and IT as sectors with maximum talent demand in the review month.

Among metro cities, Pune claimed most talent demand followed by Mumbai. Functional area-wise study showed that professionals with IT/Telecom were most sought after.

A M-o-M trend study revealed that freshers and professionals with less than two years of work experience were most sought after in June 2019.
