The ecommerce segment had added more than 44,000 new jobs in the first half of the FY’19. As per the NASSCOM-PwC India report the e-commerce market is pegged at $45 billion and is expected to grow by 25% in the next five years. To augment this growth the sector needs talent, and hence, there is a rising demand for e-commerce skills across industries. In 2020, the top 05 job roles that will be in demand in the ecommerce segment are:
1. Software Development: Software development roles will continue to be in demand; especially skilled talent in areas like automation, customer relationship management (CRM), website design, customer service and marketing-related functions will see a surge in demand. Organisations will continue to hire high skilled software developers who understand business needs, provide the best ROI as e-commerce companies’ are consistently looking for ways to create a unique differentiator for their offerings.
2. Artificial Intelligence (AI): AI-driven tech will continue to disrupt the way e-commerce companies do business and in the process create demand for many new profiles in the sector. Organisations will look for talent who can quickly adapt to fast evolving technologies and integrate their skills on the go.
3. Data Analytics: Data is the primary center for all ecommerce players providing them with the right insights about customer behavior and preference, consumer demand and changing lifestyle patterns. In today’s increasingly crowded digital marketplace, skilled data analytics professionals will be more in demand in 2020.
